Decoration Ideas

Baby Blankets - To make the room feel more nice and cozy like a home, use dividers from the church to portion off a smaller area, then pin and hang baby blankets and quilts on them. (Each of the hostesses could bring various blankets and quilts of all different colors or they could bring ones that reflect the colors and themes for the shower. Maybe a few could be presents for the mom as well.)

Picture Frames - Make Picture frames from heavy paper. Inside put information about the mother or stuff like "Welcome to Angela's Shower", "Gift Table", etc.

Baby food candle holders - Use baby food jars to hold votive candles.

Balloon Tub with toys - For a fun centerpiece fill a baby tub with small blue, white or pearlescent balloons, so they look like bubbles. Add bath toys as the finishing touch.

Diaper Wreath - Use cloth diapers to make a wreath. Purchase a wire wreath frame grab the diapers in the middle and pull or poke through until the edges are gathered in a frill. Fill in the whole frame with different colored cloth diapers. Add a big bow. The new parents can take this home and will have plenty of cloth diapers on hand for burp cloths or a head start on diapers if they plan to use cloth.

Twinkle Lights - Use Christmas twinkle lights to around the food and gift tables to add a beautiful sparkle inexpensively. You can dress these lights up in all sorts of ways, wrap them in a swag of tulle or silk ivy, or take silk flowers off the stems and poke the light through the stem so the light becomes the center of the flower or use pretty small cups with a baby theme and cut a small x in the bottom and poke the light through so the cup becomes a lampshade. As a precaution you would never want to leave lights unattended.

Clothes Line - Hang a clothes line of baby socks and booties as a decorative swag.

Baby bottle Vases - Use baby bottles as vases for flowers. Weight them down with pretty acrylic stones in the right color.

Baby bottle Centerpieces - Fill baby bottles with jelly beans for a festive colorful look. Tie a bunch of balloons to them and you have a cute centerpiece for each table.

Gift Bag Centerpieces - Use a gift bag with the appropriate theme as a holder for silk flowers for a centerpiece

Lollipop Decorations - Make big lollipops for yard decorations or a directions sign to help people find the shower.

Bassinette Vase - A small bassinette or antique carriage filled with flowers makes a pretty party decoration. A bassinette also works well as a gift collector.

Floating Ducks - Float rubber ducks in the punch bowl.

Baby Blocks - Make "baby blocks" out of various sized boxes covered in different soft colored baby or solid wrapping paper. Glue borders on each side with bias tape or ribbon. Put in center of table with cake and candles. Stack to look like blocks. Makes a great centerpiece.

Potted Plants for favors - For a memorable, usable, and lasting favor, get paper cups or small terra cotta pots and plant small blooming plants, attach ribbon, or netting and a tag with a special poem. They can be used as decorations for the baby shower too.
